Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner? Remember when older folks used to commiserate about how quickly the years pass by as we get older? As a full-fledged member of the older folks camp, I admit it's all true. However, I believe it's on purpose. It reminds us how important it is to make each day count, right? As my birthday approaches later this month, I am another year older. Whew! Yes, I said it. I'm okay with that. Seriously, I am immensely thankful that I have a life, for the love in it, and for all of you who have enriched my life in some way. Have I told you lately that I appreciate you? I do. And from our home to yours, we wish you a fabulously Happy Thanksgiving!
December 9 - Join us for LIVE CLUE - Mistletoe Mystery
Looking for a particularly unique experience to try between Thanksgiving and Christmas? After careful consideration on what event to host during this seasonal gap, my mind kept going back to our last LIFE CLUE event. Seeing all those smiles and hearing all that laughter was so deliciously engaging, I thought, why NOT host another one? So, if you've missed the last one, maybe you can join us for this one. I already have the character names... Carol, Holly, Merry, Joy, Bella, Candy, Cocoa, Kris, Joseph, Noel, Nicholas. Are you sensing a theme? Did I mention the buffet of Holiday hors d'oeuvres to kick off the evening? There will be a brand new scenario, of course, which I'll be writing this week. Then there's the character bios - how fun! Winter Warmer Nightcaps
As winter approaches and the daylight dwindles, many guests like NOT having to scramble to their vehicle to drive somewhere for a hot drink and instead, prefer to tuck in early and enjoy the Hygge at the Guilford Bed and Breakfast. Hygge (don't ask me how to pronounce this) is a way of life for Danes which embodies a sense of coziness, simplicity, and being present. For this reason, the GBNB will be rolling out a special Winter Warmer Nightcap beverage selection (with non-alcoholic options) for guests staying with us over the winter months. What's better than sipping on a Hot Toddy to warm the cockles in front of a warm and crackling fireplace? These tasty nightcaps can be ordered when you arrive and will be served to you at 7 p.m. in our library in the evening. Want to wet your whistle? Think Hot Buttered Rum, Hot Spiced Coco, or Hot Mulled Wine. We hope to see you soon!
